CHAMARI WILLIAMS/DEERFIELD SCROLL

Let me set the scene. You are dozing off in history class and suddenly a ring jolts you out of your seat, notifying you of an email. After you die in Snake, you tab to your email, and to your pleasant surprise, it’s a message from shipping and receiving informing you that your new JBL speaker has arrived. There are few things in life that rival the pure bliss of opening an email from shipping and receiving and the anticipation of making the walk after school kicks in. On your stroll over, you have time to talk to friends or perhaps put in some airpods and let the stresses of the day disappear. But the real fun starts when you arrive and meet Mr. Brooks and

Mr. Garey: they are quick to crack jokes and love nothing more than hearing about your day. Both have worked at DA for over 35 years and handle hundreds of packages a day. Interviewing Mr. Brooks, I learned that his only grievances in life are kids who do not pick up their packages. Mr. Brooks loves to hunt and is a devoted Miami Dolphins fan. He informed me that some people come very often (you know who you are), but if you can top 20 packages a week, you gain entry into the shipping hall of fame. As for when to go, it all depends on your personality. If you want a quiet shipping experience, go during a free period or community time. However, if you are the type of person that enjoys a social excursion, head over to shipping and receiving before your co-curricular activity.
