What’s the coolest part about your job?
Being able to be back at Deerfield with other alumni and reliving high school memories from a different perspective.
And seeing students enjoy Deerfield in a way I enjoyed it and reconnecting with faculty as friends.
Who inspires you?
Yvon Chouinard, shows that you can build a business with purpose and use business as a way to take care of the environment and people.
What was the best gift you have ever received?
My neighbor in Maine who is a 91 years old man taught me how to paint with watercolor.
What advice would you give to your high school self?
Don’t be afraid to try new things,
because you never know what club or friendship could change your life.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not on duty?
Hike, paint, play piano, or work on building my small business, called
Jinja Prints.
What is something you miss from your time at DA?
Being surrounded by the most smart, humble, and driven people I know.
What would you do with your life if you did not teach?
I would solo travel around Northern Europe or learn how to sail.
