What’s your favorite part about being a math teacher?

The students.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now where would it be and why?

Italy—I lived there for a few years in the 1990’s and love the food, language, and art.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

The schedule.

If pink were a number what number would it be?

Pink? Three.

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met?

William F. Buckley.

If you could have any pet and it wouldn’t be illegal what would it be and why?

Golden Retriever—we had a wonderful dog for 12 years and there is nothing like living with a Golden. Every day is a good day and every person is their best friend.

What’s your favorite Ben&Jerry’s flavor?

What’s the one with Monkey in it? Chunky Monkey.

What was your favorite class in high school?

I didn’t have any. I’d say English.

If you were a kitchen utensil what kitchen utensil would you be?

A blender.

What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened in one of your classes?

I stepped into a trashcan during class.

Did you fall?

No.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had and where?

The best meal would be in Italy. It was a grilled lamb.

What’s your best joke?

There are no good math jokes. Why was six afraid of seven?

Because seven ate nine.

Was your high school experience anything like Deerfield?

No, not at all.
